Candle Care
Beeswax candles take a little more care than your average soy or paraffin candle. See these helpful steps below to help your Beeswax candle burn it’s brightest and last it’s longest!
Trim your wick before each burn to ¼”. You can use regular scissors, or you can use traditional wick scissors, available for sale in accessories. Trimming the wick will ensure it burns cleaner all the way down. If you see some build up around the wick, you can scrape it off if it doesn’t come off with the snip, these are natural particles within the beeswax that get drawn to the flame.
To prevent ‘tunneling’, don’t burn your beeswax candle for more than 4 hour increments.. Candle tunneling occurs when only the center of the wax right around the wick melts and burns down. This can also happen if the wrong size wick is used for the size of the candle or in unusual shaped containers.
To prevent dripping, keep away from open windows, fans or excessive airflow of any kind and place your hand behind flame when blowing out.
Do not leave candles burning unattended. This is a fire risk! Always extinguish candles after 4 hours or if you’re leaving the room
To minimize smoking use a snuffer to extinguish flame.
