Our Story
Hi, I’m Carrie, the founder, and owner of The Naked Buzz. Our aim is to create natural, beautiful, aromatic beeswax candles and products that invigorate your space and help you find the same inspiration that urged me to start The Naked Buzz.
Scents evoke emotions, and that’s exactly what they did for me. In early 2021, I was searching for a creative outlet while working my corporate job from home for nearly a year, handling the stress of raising three unique children, all whilst trying to navigate the pandemic and keep a level head. I needed to make time for myself and prioritize self-care, I always had a candle burning in the background to create more calmness and tranquility.
When I experimented with candle-making for the first time, I immediately reconnected with my creative side and fell in love. I tapped into my 20 years of experience in business operations and manufacturing for corporations and found a way to turn my burning passion into a reality. It warms my heart to think that my passion could perhaps play a role in you pursuing yours.
Benefits of Beeswax
Beeswax candles come from a completely natural and renewable source: 100% pure, organic beeswax! When beeswax candles burn, they actually emit negative ions that clean the air and energize your body. They also have longer burn times and a full, consistent light spectrum. Plus, even unscented beeswax candles have a beautiful honey scent from the raw beeswax.
Problems with Paraffin and Soy Wax
Paraffin, the most popular kind of candle wax, is actually a toxic byproduct of the oil industry. Soy wax, mis-marketed as a healthier alternative to paraffin, goes through several chemical treatments like bleaching and deodorizing it, and adding stearic acid to create longer-burning candles.
So, although paraffin candles are super cheap, and soy candles seem like a better alternative, burning bleach, stearic, artificial fragrance oils and dyes, releases toxic fumes into the air. That’s not what we want from our candles!

When you buy a candle from The Naked Buzz, you’re supporting a whole colony of local Orange County businesses. Our natural beeswax comes from a family of beekeepers in Orange, a 35-year-old beekeeping empire with more than 800 hives across Southern California. We find our jars and glasses at local shops and thrift stores to ensure sustainability during every step of production. Every time you light a candle, you’re supporting our little local swarm of worker bees.
